kids at 9 degrees
for Under 18’s
Although 9 Degrees endeavours to be a welcoming facility please keep in mind that we cater predominantly for those 16 and over. First and foremost we are an adult sporting facility.
While there's undoubtedly many climbs a child can conquer with the required supervision, groups with 5 or more children or those hoping to leave children unattended are better off exploring more suitable options for entertainment.
We strictly do not facilitate children’s birthday parties.
All persons under 18 years of age must have their waivers signed by a parent or legal guardian before using the facilities at 9 Degrees. Aunts, uncles, parents of friends or other non-legal guardians will not be eilligible to sign for a waiver for a child. Signed notes, emails or verbal permission will not be accepted.
Children under the age of 15 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Although bouldering does not require an adult to belay active supervision is required at all times. Supervisors must not let children run, sit or stand the mats, climb too close to anyone else, jump down from the top or otherwise act in an unsafe or disruptive manner.
One adult supervisor is necessary per 2 children climbing (a group of 4 children would require 2 adults, for example). This is non-negotiable.
Supervision exemptions may be made by staff on a case-by-case basis for competent youth competition climbers.
Groups with 5 or more children or those hoping to leave children unattended are better off exploring other options for kids entertainment.
